I'm reading through Matthew right now in my personal study time. I knew there was a little of this but man, the Pharisees were stupid, the disciples were greedy and Jesus was sarcastic. I guess it's been a while since I've spent focused time just reading Matthew. A couple of my observations from this amazing story makes me want to do a series walking through Matthew.
Chap. 3: Jesus' baptism. Authority matters.
Chap. 5, 6, 7: Beattitudes. Amazing. (7) Ask, go ahead...ask.
Chap. 8: Centurion. Jesus is looking for real faith.
Chap. 9: Paralytic. Jesus came for the sick not the healthy (sarcastic comment. Love it!)
Chap. 13: Parable of the Sower. There are a lot of people who need to hear this message.
Chap. 13: Parable of the Weeds. Do your job and God will do His.
Chap. 15: Clean and Unclean. Jesus doesn't care about your traditions.
Chap. 17: Healing of a boy with a demon. Jesus is getting impatient.
Chap. 18: Children. We should be careful to learn from them. They matter to God.
Chap. 20: Position. First shall be last and last shall be first. Stop looking to be served and serve.
If you're reading more blogs than you are Scripture you have some priority issues. Seriously, I've been there. Get in the Word. It's changing my life.
