Last night the stars aligned, planetary stability was achieved and a rarity for the adult male occurred. My incredible wife, Allison Cox and Christina Harris planned months ago to take SG, Rylee and Ella to Disney on Ice. Not only is that a great opportunity for the girls to get together and enjoy a night out but that gave Kevin, AJ and I a huge moment. We pounced on it.
The evening started with a little Andolini's Pizza with Kevin, AJ, Gilbert and I. We then went on to play a mammoth game of putt putt at Frankie's Fun Park (which I won). After that we went bowling where Mikey Baur and Josh Luke joined up with us. Anna (Mikey's wife) had small group and Chapel (Josh's wife) was actually at the Disney on Ice show as well. That's when we all found out that Mickey is a KINGPIN as he destroyed us all frame by frame.
After a few hours of bowling Mickey bounced and we all made our way to the movie theater. Yes ladies and gentlemen, last night at midnight the new James Bond movie opened and I was there. That's when Brian Jarvis and Ricky Taylor met up with us. I'll admit that the movie wasn't as good as Casino Royale but it was an action packed cinimatic experience. I'll also admit that in the slower parts I did dose off.
So why have I gone on and on about my evening? Because I'm incredibly grateful to my wife for giving me a chance to just be a guy. I'm also grateful for the guys God has allowed me to meet and work with here in Charleston. I had an incredible time last night and Anita has given me a chance to catch up on my sleep since I'm an old man and can't stay up till after 2am and then act like all is normal the next day. Now of course I'm looking forward to cheering on the Northwood Chargers in the State semi-final tonight. This has been a fantastic week (even if I am getting over this blasted sickness.) I know more trials will come but it has been nice to enjoy the blessings God has placed in my life.
